THINGS TO KNOW: WELCOME TO 2012: Welcome to the 2012 Conditioning and Season! We are happy to see many families who had taken a break from the Waves return. Please get to know each other, it makes the season so much more fun when it is shared with friends. Swim Suits The 2012 and 2013 seasons' suits have been selected. We have chosen a two-year suit to help with costs. The suit is Speedo Mighty Python. The Girl's suits will be $52; Boy's Jammers $36; and Boy's Speedo $32. To keep the costs down, we opted not to have a logo placed on it. TRY ONS and ORDERS will be taken at practice on May 12 and at our Parent Meeting on May 30. They will be delivered to you on June 9 or June 11 in time for our first meet and our pictures. Please help our team be unified by wearing the team suit for pictures and all swim meets. Save your older suits for practices. Waves Apparel We have two different styles to choose from this year. I will post the pictures and order forms as soon as I can get them. You will be able to order the shirts at the parent meeting on May 30. We will only be doing pre-orders, no inventory will be kept for future sales. Mandatory Parent Meeting We will be having a mandatory Parent meeting on May 30th during our regular practice. The time and place will be announced as soon as we know which pool we will be at. Watch your e-mail for additional information. At the parent meeting you can order suits and apparel; sign up for volunteer positions; get the Waves handbook, picture order form, and swim-a-thon form; and meet the 2012 board. Picture Day Picture day will be June 13. The current scheduled time is 7 pm. Any changes will announced via e-mail. Please Fund-raisers Although all parents pay fees to the city, these funds are not provided to the teams. The city funds help pay for the coaches and the pools. Our team has numerous expenses for equipment, computers, awards, incentives, social activities, and ribbons. This year we will have the following fund-raisers: PARENT FEE: Each family will need to pay $20 towards these expenses. This is a family fee not per swimmer. If a family donates more than $20 as a sponsor in the swim-a-thon they will be exempt from this fee. SWIM-A-THON: The kids have the opportunity to raise funds by swimming laps. Prizes will be awarded for the most laps swam in each age group, most money earned, and for having the most sponsors. Parents can incorporate the family fee with the swin-a-thon by dividing up the family fee to each child as a sponsor and adding other sponsors. We are looking for donations of gift cards, tickets, and other prizes to raffle off.
